What is Iridology
The Secret Markings in your Eyes
Your eyes are unlike anyone else's. Like a fingerprint, they are completely unique to you. They are the window to the soul- and they are the meeting place of around 28,000 nerve endings. These nerves are connected to every gland, organ, and tissue in your body. Iridology is the study of the iris, but really it is a window into understanding the entire physical body.
Plato’s Garden offers iridology readings from a certified Iridologist who can give you a detailed reading. In any health program it is helpful to have an iris-reading, because it shows what areas of your body are strong, and which parts are struggling. Our choice of herbs can then reflect those findings.
Iridology shows the level of congestion in the body. It can gleam into some of the roots of your health problems. Maybe you’re unsure if your thyroid is under-active, or if the problem is with your pituitary gland. Are your knees genetically weak, or is there just some lymphatic stagnation in the area? Is your tendency to bruise easily a result of your skin, or your para-thyroid gland? Is your anxiety a result of a weak thyroid, nervous system, or adrenals? The more we know about our own body, the more we can do to help it.
Do you see the threads pulling apart in this iris? See how the entire inner circle is intricately connected. It was very lucky to gather this photograph at this exact moment, probably moments before the nerve-like thread snapped. Notably it shows that the appearance of the iris can change. In this case, that change is not a positive one. That defined circular line where the thread is coming loose is indicative of the small intestines and the transverse colon. The color, the outer edge, the stomach ring touching the pupil, and those dark vertical markings, are other readable pieces of information. Every part of the body is seen in the eyes. In later years, if you work on your health consistently, we can take another photo and see what positive changes have happened.
Some people think they have brown or green eyes, but if you look closely you’ll notice that there are large sections of blue within them. The brown and orange sections of the iris will typically be closest to the pupil, in the area signifying the digestive tract. If we clean out the bowels, that colour may slowly change back to blue. The eye seen below, for instance, was believed to be brown by this patient for all of their life. But looking closely, we see that the outer edges are blue. If we can clean out the bowels and the orange sulfur pigment denoting pharmaceuticals, the brown-orange colour should slowly clear up.
How to take an Iris Photo
Getting an iris reading from Plato’s Garden is easy. It’s a great way to elucidate the best herbs during an herbal consult, in combination with other therapies, or as a stand-alone reading for your own personal knowledge. Plato’s Garden only offers online readings, so we can’t use our Iridology camera. However, as long as you have a smart-phone, you can get a great photograph of your eyes. Watch the short video below and follow along. It may help to do this in front of a mirror.
When you’ve got a clear photo of both eyes, name the individual files as either “Left” or “Right”.
